John Blue Historical Complex is centered around the 1890s home of John Blue, the inventor of the cotton planter and stalk cutter. Visitors can see much of the home's original architecture, created with a distinctive Victorian-era Steamboat Gothic style featuring a wraparound deck and balcony, decorated gables and stained glass windows, and can also tour several 19th-century historic buildings located on the grounds. Positioned adjacent to the Scotland County Museum on the southwestern outskirts of the city, a miniature passenger train and restored cotton gin are also located in the complex.
Tours by appointment only, call for details.
